The roots of the GRIWA GROUP go back to 1987, when the foundation stone was laid in Grindelwald for a company that is now one of the leading regional providers in the areas of real estate, construction and tourism. Key Milestones
1987 – GRIWA PLAN AG
Markus Friedli founded GRIWA PLAN AG in Grindelwald as an architecture and engineering firm. It forms the foundation of what is now GRIWA GROUP.
1995 – GRIWA TREUHAND AG
With the establishment of GRIWA TREUHAND AG, the company's activities expanded to include the sale and management of real estate.
1998 – hotelforsale AG
hotelforsale AG was founded, specialising in the marketing of hotel and gastronomy properties throughout Switzerland.
2005 – GRIWA RENT AG
GRIWA RENT AG was established, adding professional rental and management services for holiday apartments and chalets. This marked a further connection between the group's real estate expertise and the tourism sector.
2017 – GRIWA ARCHITEKTUR AG
GRIWA ARCHITEKTUR AG was founded, with former employees of GRIWA PLAN AG continuing the company's expertise in architecture and planning under the new entity.
approx. 1972 / 2019 – Wohncenter von Allmen / GRIWA INTERIOR AG
Founded around 1972, Wohncenter von Allmen developed over several decades into an established furniture and interior business in the Bernese Oberland. In 2019, the company became part of GRIWA GROUP and continued as GRIWA INTERIOR AG. Its longstanding expertise in furnishing and interior design was further developed into comprehensive interior architecture and design concepts.
2020 – GRIWA DEVELOPMENT AG
GRIWA DEVELOPMENT AG was founded to independently manage project development and implementation as a total and general contractor. The company supports projects from initial development through to turnkey completion.
2020 – Integration of nk immobilien gstaad gmbh
The nk immobilien gstaad gmbh, founded in 2015, became part of GRIWA GROUP, strengthening the group's regional presence and real estate expertise in the Saanenland.
2021 – Integration of hotelforsale AG
hotelforsale AG, founded in 1998, was integrated into GRIWA GROUP, bringing its longstanding expertise in the marketing of hotel and gastronomy properties into the group.
2026 – GRIWA PROPERTY AG
The latest addition to GRIWA GROUP, GRIWA PROPERTY AG, was established to provide professional management of the group's properties and to ensure their long-term preservation and sustainable increase in value.
